Here is an example of how AKAM fell four dollars in one session, and then bounced up over two dollars in the first two hours of the next trading session:

If you had bought 500 shares of AKAM at the open at $48.00 you would have made over $1,000.00 in LESS THAN TWO HOURS!

My two favorite stocks to day trade these days are AKAM and RBAK,
which are both traded on the Nasdaq National Marketplace.

I like to day trade these stocks because they both have extremely volatile price action in the first two hours of each trading session, and can move a dollar or two very quickly.

An entire webpage of these lessons is devoted to the subject of Regular Plays. These are trades that happen later in the trading session a few hours after the opening bell.

There are 20 example charts with very detailed explanations
of when and why to enter and exit trades in this part of the lessons.

Almost every stock will give at least ONE perfect set-up each day
on it's five minute chart for a day trade using my strategy.

If you are patient and wait for this perfect set-up to happen,
the chances are very good that it will be a successful day trade.

up and down a dollar or more many times a day:

If you had bought 500 shares of AKAM every time it touched the lower red line, you would have made a LOT of money.

On the webpage for Extended Hours Trading trading, I will show you how to trade in the pre-market and after-hours sessions of the Stock Market.

The best time to do this style of trading is during Reporting Season when all companies are required by the SEC to report their Quarterly or Year End Numbers.

Reporting Season comes four times a year and lasts for a few weeks. If a Company reports numbers that are in line or exceed the expectations of the analysts that cover it, the stock's share price can move up many dollars in just an hour or two.

If a Company reports numbers that are below the analysts estimates, it's share price can decline by dollars very quickly.

There are other reasons to trade in the extended hours sessions too. If a stock gets a upgrade or downgrade by an analyst before the opening bell, that will determine if you take a Long or a Short Sale position on that stock.

If a company releases good news before the opening bell, it's a good time to take a Long position before the Market opens.

This type of trading is the most lucrative,
and also the most dangerous kind of trading there is.

I will explain why this is the most dangerous and the most lucrative of all the styles of trading that I teach by giving detailed descriptions of 20 charts of extended hours trading.

Extended-Hours Trading should not be attempted by the novice trader until he has mastered the techniques described in the two above mentioned styles of day trading.

Here is an example chart of what DELL did on their last Quarterly Report
in the after-hours session on November 21, 2006:

As you can see, Wall Street really liked the numbers Dell came out with for this report and it moved up almost THREE DOLLARS in only FIFTEEN MINUTES!

You will learn how to read a Level 2 window
and tie it to the information found on a Time and Sales window.

You will learn how to read a Watch List,
and learn about the importance of Volume.

You will learn all about the weekly Economic Calendar and what kind of effect these Reports can have on the intraday movements of the overall Market.

You will also learn how to find and set alerts up for the latest news releases for the Company that you are currently trading, so that you will be informed about how well it is doing and what the Market sentiment is on it.

You will learn how to execute orders to Buy
and then to Sell in an Order Entry window.

I will teach you the difference between Market Orders and Limit Orders, and which one is best to use while day trading.

I will also show you how to Short Sell a stock and then Buy To Cover at a lower price. You Short a stock when you think it's share price will go down because of bad news or a bad report.

This means that you can make money even when the stock's charts show a breakdown pattern, and say it's price will decline.

Another good reason to know how to Short a stock is when the overall Market is declining, and most stocks are declining with it. This means that you can make money even in a year the overall Market is very weak.

You must have a Margin Account
with your online broker in order to Short Sell a stock.

I will show you how to set up a simple accounting system
using a program like Microsoft Excel so that you can enter every trade at the end of your day with ease.

This is required when you file your taxes yourself,
or send them to a tax preparation firm like H&R Block.

As you can see from this example of one week of my day trades,
I had 13 winning trades that add up to $1786.27
and 5 losing trades for $523.04

FOR A NET WEEKLY INCOME OF $1263.23 !!!

That's a decent average weekly income for me. Some weeks I can make two or three times that much if I trade a lot more during the week!

You will receive a list of RULES for day trading on a separate webpage that includes a section on the Psychology of Trading.

The first "Golden Rule" of day trading is to keep your losses to any absolute minimum. It is my rule to exit every trade when I am about $100.00 down. That way you will always "live to trade another day".

Sometimes the stock is falling so fast that I don't get out at exactly $100.00 down, but that's just how it goes sometimes when trading a very volatile and fast moving stock.

THE STOCK MARKET'S RULES ON DAY TRADING:

Most people think they aren't allowed to day trade because they think the Stock Market rules say you must have at least $25,000.00 cash in an account to qualify for a day trading account.

LET ME CLARIFY THE RULES FOR DAY TRADING:

There are two kinds of day traders. The first kind is a "true" day trader that has the $25K cash account. He is allowed to trade an unlimited number of times each session with the funds from each trade being settled immediately after each trade is completed.

One of the benefits of having a cash account of this size is that your broker will give you a margin ratio of 4:1 which means that you will be able to use $100K to day trade as many times a day as you'd like to, using the $75K extra that your broker has given you as margin to trade with.

What most people don't know is that you can open an online trading account with as little as $500.00 at broker's like Scottrade. In order to be able to day trade successfuly you would need a minimum cash account of two to five thousand dollars.

The rules for an account that hasn't been classified as a "true" day trading account can still do three "ins and outs" in any five consecutive trading sessions. An "in and out" is also known as a "round trip" that occurs during the same trading session.

This means that a trader can have one round trip every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday of every week. Or he can do three round trips during one session about once a week.

The way I tell my students that aren't "true" day traders is to mark an "X" on their calendar every time they do a round trip. Then to count them up and always make sure that they don't have more than three round trips during any five consecutive trading sessions.

If you can buy two thousand shares of a two dollar stock that moves ten or twenty cents or more a day, you too can make a decent average weekly income day trading the Stock Market.

I know that some online broker's have stricter rules than others. Fidelity will not let you do three round trips in three consecutive sessions, but I know that Scottrade and Ameritrade will allow this.

Check with the online broker you are interested in opening an account with to see if their rules prohibit the second type of day trading I have just described, and if they do find one that is more lenient.

Even if you can't open a true day trading account, a broker like Scottrade will give you a 2:1 margin ratio. Their minimum cash deposit to open a Margin Account is $5,000.00 and they will then give you $10,000.00 to trade with if you qualify for a Margin Account.

While it's preferrable to have the unlimited trading ability a "true" day trader has, people that can't come up with or risk $25K should know that they too can day trade successfuly as long as they play by the rules set out for them by the Stock Market.
